Sub-item 4a held in abeyance and SBI Chair conducted consultations on the way forward. Despite fruitful exchanges, more time is needed to reach an agreement on the way forward for this sub-item, which will be included on the provisional agenda for SBI 57.

The co-facilitators informed the SBI Chair that, during the informal consultations, Parties agreed to continue consideration of this matter at SBI 57. The SBI Chair reported accordingly to the closing plenary for the final agreement by the SBI thereon.
