Fifth National Communications - Annex I

This page contains information on the status of submission of fifth national communications (NC5) from Parties included in Annex I to the Convention (Annex I Parties) including those that are also Parties to the Kyoto Protocol. NC5 are due to be submitted to the secretariat by 1 January 2010. The status of submissions of the previous NCs could be found here.

NC5 should be submitted to secretariat through the UNFCCC submission portal. The UNFCCC submission portal allows Annex I Parties to easily and securely upload the required submissions. Questions relating to the use of the submission portal should be addressed to:

* At its twelfth (FCCC/CP/2006/5, para. 96) and fourteenth (FCCC/CP/2008/7, para. 68) sessions the Conference of the Parties requested Kazakhstan to submit its NC in accordance with Article 4, paragraph 2(b), and Article 12 of the Convention, using the UNFCCC reporting guidelines on NCs (FCCC/CP/1999/7) applied by Parties included in Annex I to the Convention. The second NC of Kazakhstan was submitted to the UNFCCC secretariat on 9 June 2009. On 17 September 2009, the Kyoto Protocol entered into force for Kazakhstan and in December 2009 the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol concluded on Kazakhstan being a Party included in Annex I to the Convention for the purposes of the Kyoto Protocol (FCCC/KP/CMP/2009/21, para. 91). The submission of the third NC of Kazakhstan is expected not earlier than by the end of 2011.
