“Integrating climate change adaptation with the SDGs and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction”
Adaptation Futures 2018, the fifth in the Adaptation Futures international conference series on global adaptation, was recently held in CT from 18 to 21 June. The conference aimed to facilitate dialogues for solutions between key actors from diverse perspectives and regions and attracted over 1300 scientists, practitioners, business leaders and policymakers from around the world. 183 sessions were held, including 160 innovative and participatory special sessions, designed and run by key stakeholder organisations.
The AC’s Adaptation Forum built on a technical expert meeting which was held in 2017, also on the topic of “Integrating climate change adaptation with the SDGs and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction”. Participants further elaborated on some of the key messages from the expert meeting, adding an additional perspective from the audience of the Adaptation Futures conference, including experts from the research, science and practitioners’ communities.
