Events on gender equality and women’s empowerment at COP 24
Promoting gender equality and the empowerment of women was a key feature of the UN Climate Change Conference in Poland in 2018. COP 24 marked the half way point of the Gender Action Plan (GAP) established at COP 23 under the Lima Workprogramme on Gender and there were many events and activities highlighting action in support of the GAP.
The annual UNFCCC Gender Day is dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of gender-responsive climate policy and action as well as highlighting women’s contribution and leadership in climate action. This year Gender Day was focused on #ActOnTheGAP. Find out how COP 24 helped to close the gender gap here.
