We would like to know more about your plans for the coming months and years to identify how we can help to amplify your messages, knowledge and lessons learned, to continue facilitating key connections and to drive the uptake of gender-responsive approaches to climate policy and action within and outside of the UNFCCC process. We invite you to share with us your strategic objectives, initiatives, events, workshops or other activities that relate in the broadest sense to the gender and climate change nexus by filling out the online form or sharing it with us via email (the form can also be downloaded here).
The implementation of the UNFCCC lima work programme on gender and its gender action plan (decision 3/CP.25) is driven by Parties and all other relevant organizations. It forms the overarching international policy framework and agenda, highlighting Parties key priorities and needs, on gender and climate change. The secretariat’s collation and sharing of relevant activities serve two main purposes:
- Effective dissemination of knowledge ensuring that Parties and other relevant actors can draw on each other’s experience. We do this through highlighting action on gender and climate change through our newsletter, workshops, webinars, Newsroom articles and social media campaigns, including those led by others to which we contribute, and publishing an overview of ongoing activities.
- Monitoring of global action on gender and climate change ensuring lessons learned are captured, progress is recorded and understood and is available to inform future action as well as decisions on gender and climate change.
Take a look at the LWPG and GAP (decision 3/CP.25) and see where your activities may align with priority areas, objectives and/or activities. Then share with us anything, ranging from communication campaigns, to capacity development activities, from whole programmes to stand-alone activities even if it’s not an exact fit. Don’t wait! We encourage everyone to share their plans even at the planning phase and to share updates rather than wait only for final products.
We also encourage you to include links to documents, websites, webinar recordings etc..
To help us track the implementation of the LWPG and GAP, it would be helpful if you can, wherever possible, identify which specific activity, priority area, and/or broader objective you think your action supports.
You can fill in the form directly on this website or download the document and share it with us via email (gender-team@unfccc.int)
