Dublin, Ireland
|
Information for Participants
|
|
|
Workshop Venue:
|
|
The venue for the workshop is the Irish Management Institute located in Sandyford, Dublin 16, a
southern suburb of Dublin City located in the foothills of the Dublin Mountains approximately 6
miles from the City Centre.
The website for the venue is http://www.imi.ie/directions.shtml
A map of the immediate locality, including the location of the venue, can be accessed at
http://www.imi.ie/artman/uploads/map_to_imi_2004.pdf.
If you are interested in learning more about Sandyford and the surrounding areas in South County
Dublin a useful website is http://www.dlrtourism.com.

Travelling to the Venue:
|
|
Dublin Airport is located north of the city, approximately 7 miles from the City Centre and 15
miles from the venue.
Depending on whether participants choose to stay in the City Centre or close to the venue, there
are a number of travel options available.
If participants wish to travel directly from the airport to the venue, the following are probably
the best options. Aircoach is a privately operated service operating on a 24-hour basis and can
take participants from the airport directly to Sandyford. The website address for the route is
http://www.aircoach.ie/table.routes.leopardstown.php. The service costs €7, or €12 for a
return trip. Alternatively, if participants wish to hire a taxi direct to the venue the cost would
be approximately €30, depending on the time and numbers travelling.
If participants choose to stay in the City Centre, there are numerous travel options to the City
Centre from the Airport and participants will be able to travel to the venue from the city by bus
or light rail on each day of the workshop.

|
|
We kindly ask all participants to make their own hotel bookings, using the information for hotels
and their rates below:
The Irish Government has made a block booking for the workshop participants for about 20 rooms at
the workshop venue itself.
The contact details are:

The Irish Government has also made the necessary arrangements for preferential rates for the
workshop participants at the following hotels:

Park, Leopardstown, Co. Dublin

Price: €79 per night room only

We would recommend to the participants who do not get accommodation at IMI to make their booking at
Bewley's Hotel. The hotel is close to the workshop venue and is very reasonably priced. Also,
if enough participants are staying there IMI may provide a shuttle to drop participants to the
venue and back. In addition, the Aircoach service to and from Dublin Airport stops directly outside
Bewley's Hotel.
