Abstract
This document has been prepared as a contribution to discussions on the progress, need for continuation and terms of reference of the Least Developed Countries Expert Group (LEG). It draws on views submitted by Parties and the outcomes of the stocktaking meeting on the work of the LEG, which took place from 9 to 11 March 2015, as presented in the report on the meeting. The synthesis report has also benefited from inputs provided by the LEG through the reports on its meetings, in particular the 26th and 27th meetings, and other relevant documents. Based on all the above-mentioned inputs, this document synthesizes possible elements for a future mandate of the LEG, including broadening the areas of support provided by the LEG and revising the composition and the length of the mandate of the group to address emerging needs for support
