The Ministerial event started with a panel discussion by the French Ministers of Education and Environment, followed by a presentation of good practices to integrate climate action and environment issues in the educational systems. Delegates shared lessons learned. A Ministerial Declaration on climate change education concluded the event. The Ministerial event took place from 9:00 to 13:00 in the  future generations space.     

The main objective of the UN side event was to motivate exchange of knowledge among Governments, IGOs, civil society, academia and youth. Furthermore, the event aimed to highlight partnerships and opportunities for scaling up climate change education and to identify innovative ways of enhancing climate action with a focus on formal education. This side event took place from 13:15 to 14:45 in the "blue zone".
