Compilation and Synthesis Reports

The secretariat prepares compilation and synthesis (C&S) reports of the information provided in
the biennial reports (BRs) and National Communications (NCs) by developed Parties.
The report highlights findings on quantified economy-wide emission reduction targets; progress made
towards their achievement, including information on mitigation actions and their effects, the
estimates of emission reductions and removals and the use of units from market-based mechanisms and
LULUCF activities; greenhouse gas (GHG) emission trends and projections; and the provision of
financial, technological and capacity-building support to developing country Parties.

Consideration of C&S of BR2s from Parties included in Annex I to the Convention

The C&S report of second biennial reports (BR2s) was prepared following the submissions of BR2s
(due 1 Jan.2016). It was considered at SBI 45 (Marrakech, Nov. 2016) and at SBI 46 (Bonn, May 2017)
where rule 16 of the draft rules of procedures was applied.
The issue was taken up at SBI 47 (Bonn, Nov. 2017) and will be reconsidered at SBI 48 (Bonn, April
2018).

|

The C&S report of third biennial reports (BR3s) will be published in October 2018 with the view to
consider the report at SBI 49 (December 2018).
