Attending sessions
Article 7, paragraph 6 of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change provides that
representatives of the United Nations system may be represented as observers at sessions. In order to
attend sessions representatives of UN bodies and organizations need to be officially nominated by
their respective heads to the Executive Secretary of the secretariat.
Please send the formal letter of nomination to sessions@unfccc.int.
Please note that UN organizations and agencies are not required to apply for
admission to the UNFCCC process.

Applying for side events and exhibits
For COP/CMP sessions, side events and exhibits of the UN system and its specialized agencies are
coordinated through the High-Level Committee on Programmes under the Delivering as One approach.
For other UNFCCC sessions (e.g. SBs), UN system organizations may apply individually.
Please consult the Side Events and Exhibits Online Registration
System (SEORS) for further information.
