Status of submission and review of seventh national communications and third biennial reports. Note by the secretariat.

1. This note provides information on the status of submission and review of seventh national communications (NCs) and third biennial reports (BRs) from Parties included in Annex I to the Convention (Annex I Parties) as at 30 March 2018. 2. The Conference of the Parties (COP) requested Annex I Parties to submit their NC7s no later than four years after 1 January 2014 and their BR2s and subsequent BRs two years after the due date of a full NC. 3. In addition, COP 17 adopted the “UNFCCC biennial reporting guidelines for developed country Parties” and decided that developed country Parties should use them for the preparation of their BRs. COP 18 adopted the common tabular format (CTF) for those guidelines and COP 21 decided that developed country Parties should use the format when preparing and submitting their BRs in accordance with decision 2/CP.17.
